The Practice Team

Our team is made up of a range of experienced and respected professionals. They include GPs and Nurses, along with Allied Health Professionals such as Health Visitors, Midwives and Councellors. Our clinical team is backed up by a full compliment of administrative staff.

The Practices vision and ambition towards the delivery of patient care was greatly inspired by our previous Senior Partner, Dr Ashok Vora. Dr Vora joined the Surgery in 1983 and became Senior Partner in 1998. During his time at the Surgery, Dr Vora was also an advisor to the PCT, helping to shape healthcare services in the local area and was the founding member of SouthDocServices, providing out-of-hours care to the South Birmingham communities. Dr Vora’s unwavering dedication in ensuring his patients received the highest level of care is still an inspiration to the Surgery team, even after his sad passing in 2022.

Meet the Clinical Team

Dr Ajay Shah MB BCh 2001
GP Partner

Originally from Birmingham, Dr Shah obtained his medical degree from the University of Cardiff. He then completed his General Practice training in the Black Country. Dr Shah joined the practice as a permanent doctor in June 2007. His special area of interest is in Dermatology and Anticoagulation Therapy. Dr Shah is a GP Trainer to GP Registrars.

Dr Kulbir Tajuria MB BS 2001
GP Partner

Dr Tajuria completed his GP training in Birmingham. He joined the Practice in 2012 and became a partner in 2013. His areas of special interest are elderly care, mental health and diabetes. Dr Tajuria is the urgent care lead for Birmingham South Central CCG, and is a senior doctor at South Birmingham GP Walk in Centre. He is a trainer for Medical Students.

Managing Partner

Nirmal joined the practice in 2003, following his degree in Accounting and Management at the University of Leeds.  He became a partner in the practice in 2006. Nirmal has over 15 years’ business experience in the private sector. He continues to apply this experience in improving the practice and local health economy. Nirmal is also the Chief Executive Officer of South Doc Services MyHealthcare; the local GP organisation helping over 60 GP surgeries and covering over a third of Birmingham patients, collaborating to bring services closer to patients.
