COVID-19 vaccination update
Please do not contact the practice to ask about COVID-19 vaccination. You will be contacted when you are eligible.
After being asked by NHS England and NHS Improvement to deliver the Covid-19 vaccination program, West Heath Surgery are continuing to be the Covid-19 vaccination site for Phase 3 of the program.
To ensure everyone receives the vaccine in a safe and controlled way, priority groups have been agreed by NHS England similarly to the initial phases of the Vaccination program.
We will contact you when you are eligible to receive your booster vaccine and arrange a suitable appointment.
Please don’t contact the practice to ask for a vaccine before then.
We are working hard to continue to deliver initial Covid-19 vaccinations, while continuing to deliver the largest ever flu vaccine campaign and supporting our patients with routine and urgent health requests. On that basis, if you have any questions regarding the Covid-19 booster vaccine please call our Covid-19 helpline on 0121 387 8470.
What groups are being contacted for boosters?
Older adults in care homes, care home workers and frontline health and social care workers are being offered the vaccine first.
The vaccine will be offered to all of our Patients over the age of 50 and to patients over the age of 16 with underlying health conditions which put them at risk of complications caused by the Covid-19 vaccine. Please note that due to JCVI guidance, patients within these cohorts will be booked in for their booster vaccine 6 months after receiving their 2nd vaccine.
